DESSiCA is developing its “Made in France” production

Offres et services

DESSICA launches new ranges of industrial dehumidifiers manufactured in France. Founded in 1999, DESSICA is now a major European operator in air drying and dehumidification for industry.

A new production line in Trévoux

Based in Trévoux (Ain) for over 20 years, DESSICA develops new product ranges. After becoming a SCOP (Cooperative and Participatory Company) in 2012, DESSICA has decided to focus its growth on strategic priorities based on quality and innovation, and a corporate culture that promotes employee autonomy and responsibility.

Insourcing the production in France

Since 2016, the company has been committed to a constant process of Research & Development as well as an ongoing approach of quality improvement and innovation. DESSICA is now the only manufacturer of industrial air dryers to offer Made in France products in this niche market. DESSICA is launching its own range of standard rotary air dryers, initially comprising two product lines, and still using the tried and tested silica gel desiccant wheel technology which has already contributed to the company’s success!

New, even more efficient air dryers to help meet energy efficiency objectives

Thanks to its experience, DESSICA has designed this range to meet manufacturers’ expectations in terms of energy performance, ergonomics and efficiency.

These new ranges of air dehumidifiers offer several advantages:

  • More ergonomic: easier installation and maintenance
  • Even more efficient: reduced energy consumption with very high dehumidification performance
  • Overall energy efficiency up by 10%

DESSICA increases its production capacity

This is the result of several years of research and study by the Research & Development team. The dehydration units are manufactured and assembled at the company’s premises in Trévoux (Ain FR-01). With this new production line, the proportion of manufactured products will increase from 50% to 85% of its turnover.

Air dryers and dehumidifiers are used in many industrial sectors:

  • In the food industry, to prevent powders from clumping (condiments, processed foods, amino acids), to prevent bacterial proliferation, and to dry out after large-scale washing of factory floors.
  • In the pharmaceutical industry, for the manufacture of capsules and effervescent tablets.
  • To combat corrosion in sewage treatment plants and power stations.

These are just a few examples where manufacturers need precise dry air quality and controlled hygrometry.

Ergonomic, efficient dehumidifiers

Whether for storage in dry air or for production processes requiring constant low humidity, these dehumidifiers meet the many demands made by professionals.

The DL range of air dehumidifiers is designed to meet the needs of professionals in the building and industrial sectors, particularly for the storage, conservation and preservation of equipment and buildings. The DL “large” air dryers are high-flow dehumidifiers, ranging from 450 to 11,000 m³/h.

The DL range of dryers naturally finds its use in:

  • Preventing corrosion
  • Protecting against condensation
  • Preventing the growth of mould
  • Reducing drying time in the construction industry
  • Preserving during storage
  • Preventing the reabsorption of moisture by hygroscopic materials
  • Preventing clogging or agglomeration

The DP range (Air dehumidifiers for industrial Processes) is designed for industrial processes, particularly for controlling humidity in production and packaging environments, and for drying processes. DP air dryers have the advantage of being configurable, built with a stainless-steel casing and equipped with PLC control. They are ideally suited to demanding food processing environments requiring compliance with strict hygiene rules.

The dryers are all built with identical standard central units to which additional modules can be added upstream or downstream (for pre and/or post-treatment of the air).

The DP range of dehumidifiers can be used for:

  • Increasing the productivity of drying systems
  • Reducing bacterial growth and the spread of airborne contamination
  • Improving the quality of hygroscopic materials
  • Ensuring the best flow of powders
  • Preventing condensation
  • Drying products
  • Improving product quality
  • Increasing profitability and reducing losses related to clumping and clogging

The air ducting and direction (dry air outlet to the right or left) are interchangeable depending on the installation conditions at the site.

In addition to French manufacturing, DESSICA prioritises relationships with local operators, with the company making 25% of its purchases in the Ain French department and sourcing all its components from the European continent, ensuring product quality and reliability.

For older units, DESSICA still offers repair options with maintenance and after-sales service: the sale of spare parts and technical visits for both preventive and corrective diagnostics.

These products have been available for sale since the first quarter of 2023.

About DESSICA

DESSICA has made significant investments in high-performance industrial facilities (including €1.8 million for a new production site in 2021), which makes it possible to produce several hundred dehumidifiers per year (around 220).

DESSICA aims to meet national and international demand in the food-processing, pharmaceutical, energy, chemical and logistics sectors.

DESSICA designs the units at its office in Trévoux. The manufacturing of the metal body is carried out by BTI-Bernard Tôlerie Industrielle, a company that has been part of the cooperative group since 2018, and which manufactures the subassemblies from steel and stainless-steel sheet.

The cooperative group employs 50 people, and this development has led to the creation of two positions for the new production.

DESSICA focuses on manufacturing its products in France, and on being responsive and attractive to its customers.

DESSICA’s turnover reached €4 million in 2022, an increase of 10 to 15% over the past ten years, thanks to the full control over the entire industrial process, from conception to after-sales service.
