Industrial corrosion protection
The corrosion of metals is an electrochemical phenomenon requiring the simultaneous presence of a certain number of factors, in particular:
- the existence of a potential difference between pure and impure locations at the surface of the metal,
- the presence of oxygen,
- the presence of water.
An electrolytic environment is thus created that can only be eliminated if one of these three factors can be removed. But most of the time it is not possible to eliminate oxygen or to remove surface impurities. It is therefore through control of the relative humidity of the air that corrosion can be reduced and even eliminated.
Dessica systems to fight against corrosion
DESSICA systems ensure that circuits of boilers, generators, heaters, and turbines are protected from condensation and corrosion during shutdown periods, and provide drying and inerting of tanks with dry air. Inerting with dry air is done at atmospheric pressure, which facilitates use of the equipment. DESSICA systems also allow proper insulation voltages to be maintained in alternators, thus guaranteeing restarting under optimal conditions.
Dessica equipment for humidity control
DESSICA equipment allows the humidity in storage rooms (industrial premises or metal-textile enclosures) to be controlled with low energy consumption and without necessarily heating and thermally insulating these premises, and also allows industrial equipment (boilers, turbines, aircraft, etc.) to be maintained in dry air, ensuring that it is properly preserved.
